Colored In Red

Painted in iridescence

I see colors,
Vibrant and true.
I see colors,
Bleeding through.
Hues of black, and blue,
Dripping with reds,
Mixed in with whites,
Painting a pretty disguise.

I watched,
Stories dipped in grey,
Formed from the ashes of their own decay.
I watched,
Lies oozing black,
A sulfurous mix of greed,
An ugly color,
Mixed in with unwanted needs.

I heard,
Words dripping green,
The stench of envy,
Heavy and obscene.
Color of discordant melodies,
Wrapping around bodies,
Swimming behind eyes,
Painting an unpleasant picture,
Color me surprised.

I touched,
Emotions drenched in blue,
A sea unchartered,
A land none could traverse through.
Deep and shallow,
All at once,
Blues and blacks,
All at once.
Colored dark, colored true,
A painting you could fall into.

I felt,
Colors wrapped in white,
The color of disguise.
Purity and goodness,
All wrapped at once,
The color of innocence.
Smiles gilded in lies,
Teeth gleaming white.
I stood stunned,
Blinded by the light.

I tasted,
Passion soaked in red,
Fingerprints dusted in blue,
Sketching a tale over me,
All the signs of me wrapped in you.
I scented,
A bow of pretty pink,
Mixed in violets,
Made with adoration,
A ribbon of your love,
Your claim over me,
A color I wear with devotion.

Round and round,
Went the kaleidoscope of iridescence,
I fell into its waves,
I floated in purple,
Swam through greys,
Each color painted a different story,
A different want,
An unknown need,
A taste and emotion that swept me away.

I lay painted in rainbows,
Dipped in all hues,
All the colors,
I could never choose.
Painted in blue,
Painted in black,
Painted in words I left unsaid,
Colors unbled.
But,
Of all the colors I could ever want,
Of all the colors I ever painted,
I choose to be colored in red.
