Movies That Left ME Scarred

Seriously do NOT watch these…. not worth the nightmares.

.

.

.

I like watching a good horror movie, but some movies manage to cross the line from horror to downright bizarre. People say they are artistic and that there’s a message in there that has significant value, we just need to see it apparently. No, it doesn’t. Don’t try to fool me by covering the true horror of these movies with philosophical lies.

I came across these movies when I was on a regrettable quest of bravery and boy did I regret it, but then I decided why should I bear this horror alone? I’ll share it with someone else and those “someone else” are you all because curiosity is a true temptress you see. You’ll go through this list and then promptly be tempted to search for the movie or at least read about it and that’ll be more than enough to satisfy the horrible human in me because then I’ll have a partner to my trauma.

So, my apologies in advance.

Genre: Horror/Drama

Year: 2009

Duration: 1h 44m

My response after seeing this movie was to Reddit furiously for answers because just… wtf people? First of all, in no way did the title make sense to me since it did not relate to what was happening in the movie at all. It felt like getting caught in an extremely disturbing yet confusing nightmare.

It’s basically a story about a kid falling out a window while the parents were doing other extremely important “stuff”. The mother was understandably upset so in response to her trauma the psychiatrist’s father decided since he is an expert in this sort of stuff, he should take her to the middle of a ghastly forest and heal her there, because why not?

From there onwards, the movie just derails into a mass of fevered scenarios such as mutilation, weird animals, and ooooh witchcraft!

Best Moments:

  1. The talking animals.
  2. The woman becomes a gynecologist in a bad way mid-movie.
  3. The man apparently is now a woman…? There is symbolism involved guys, yea I didn’t get it either.

Ask The Internet:

So, after much intense googling and further nightmares, I arrived at the understanding that this is apparently based on misogyny. Where the husband is holding his authority over the wife and a bunch of other stuff, I saw none of this… was this a whole other movie?

All I remember is the talking fox.

Please watch and let me know. 😊

The Human Centipede (First Sequence)

Click my bootyfool face for not good stuff.

Genre: Slasher/Thriller

Year: 2009

Duration: 1h 32m

Human Centipede is one of those movies that you should watch and immediately forget about because remembering this will not only make you question your choices in life but will also make the ones around you question their choice in befriending you. So, overall not a good idea.

Anyways, moving on rapidly, what exactly is the plot in the movie? That’s not me being rhetorical, it’s an actual question. What is the plot?

Based on what I saw, all I can say is that the main theme of the movie is an unhealthy obsession with centipedes, that’s it. There is a man, there is a centipede, a man likes centipedes, a man hates people, a man decides to make humans into centipedes, and people suffer. That’s it. There is nothing else happening there.

The true travesty? They decided to make a whole franchise off of this. It doesn’t get much worse than that.

And do NOT tell me there is symbolism in this.

Best Moments:

  1. The villain who was villainy enough.
  2. The feeding part, very unique indeed.
  3. The commitment to biology.

Ask The Internet:

Let me tell you all, I am not the only one who has passionately Googled for answers. Everyone wants to know why was this movie made and why were there three parts to it. Also, just in case you wished to know the second part is incessantly gory and more disturbing so yes thrice the amount of fun for you to enjoy. Please do NOT let me know about your journey through this franchise. I can live without knowing the details.

Salò, or the 120 Days of Sodom

Just don’t bother clicking. Seriously, don’t.

Genre: Drama/War

Year: 1975

Duration: 1h 57m

I wanted to pray after watching this movie, that’s all I can say about this movie. Also, just for further understanding, this movie is based on an unfinished novel by Marquis de Sade. So, you can now understand how this goes.

Apparently, de Sade wrote this while he was in prison and had hidden the scroll during a prison raid which was then recovered by someone else and was eventually published.

To make it as easy as possible to understand I’ll break it down into simple terms. The plot is that a group of rich fascists during the World War era kidnap 18 youngsters and just do horrifying things to them. That’s it.

It’s also called Salò because it’s also based on real-life events that transpired in the Republic of Saló in Northern Italy, where a group of wealthy fascists abducted a large group of young men and women and also did bad stuff to them.

People have way too much free time on their hands.

I am happy to say I could not complete the movie, for obvious reasons. Oh, look I have a soul and also a half-sane mind. For some unfathomable reason, this movie was actually made. From mutilation to bad touching to eventual death, this movie has it all.

In short, it is a glorified snuff tale.

Enjoy. 😊

Best Moments:

  1. The fact that I sat through a large chunk of it.
  2. It surprisingly exists.
  3. None whatsoever.

Ask The Internet:

Even the internet is like why? It’s mostly the creator’s view of fascism or the dehumanization of western culture, either way, I could not see the point of scalping people to prove that point, but that’s just me.

But, if you wish to view it by all means go ahead but do keep a marathon of comedy series ready to go after it.

Each of these movies comes with a tanker full of trigger warnings and should you traverse down the path of watching any of these, I am not responsible for the weird dreams you’ll be having for weeks after it.

Not that I am stopping you, go ahead, I’ll enjoy the aftermath.
