Don’t trust her smiles,
For they are all lies.
When she says she is fine, don’t believe.
For it’s a lie that she interweaves.
Every day that dances by,
In her heart she tries to not cry.
Shying away from all the attention,
Fighting against every misconception.
No one accepted her for who she was,
But she never knew the cause.
Was it because she was different?
Or was she not smart?
Oh, but how will she ever convince her bitter heart?
Every morning she wakes,
To do the hardest task.
Every morning she wakes,
To wear a new mask.
A new person she is,
A person she isn’t meant to be.
A person you made,
A person she isn’t happy to be.
Yet she wears this mask,
A mask she never wished to wear.
But when you look at her,
Do you even care?
A day will come,
When someone will want her for who she is.
But on that day,
Will she do the task?
Of casting away the mask.
