Madness within devotion
.
.
.
Rustic and golden,
You were the vintage of an era long forgotten
Something untouched,
Frozen,
An echo, a whisper lost in the spirals of time,
A distraction built to perfection
And wrapped in mischief
Your eyes lit up with all the decadence of the richest of wines.
I succumbed
My soul aflame with need
Words whispered in darkness
A prayer upon a sinners lip,
Platitudes of the unholy lost within the pages of lust, love
And something more,
Protests faded into silence
The aroma of want and desire,
Lost in the hungry downpour.
I had waited and waited
Ever patient
The outcome of a thousand battles lost,
The land lay drenched in blood
Cracked and burnt
A homage in ichor.
You entered
The walls crumbled
Defenses laid to waste
A moment, a second
I had come undone.
I floated through the limbo
Wrapped in us
Defeat never tasted sweeter
A loss so rich,
We sunk in to the second circle
Trapped in bliss
Submission divine,
Your soul lay wrapped between my fingers
Coated in hunger
Trapped and intertwined.
Winds laid claim to the lands
Battered down what remained
We watched it all
Lit with delight,
The sun burst
Rays of red colored the skies
Flames bled through our veins
We became a topography of flowers and vines
Wrapped together, truncated
We laid in its gilded ashes.
